You Outta Know: Pia Baroncini

You Outta Know: Pia Baroncini

This is the start of a series where I talk about women I admire. I was going to call it GIrl Crush and realized that wasn’t the right term. Anyways, here’s the first one let’s see how it goes.

I first “got to know” Pia Baroncini when she was a guest last year on Heather McMahan’s podcast Absolutely Not. I remember walking my dog around the UCSF campus and laughing listening to her stories and just being drawn in by her real and raw personality. The fact that she was at one point a blogger writing about her own life living in NYC (much like my former life escapades) didn’t escape me either - I dearly wish the archives were still online somewhere but I understand too well why they likely aren’t.

Pia is the creative director of fashion brand LPA, host of her own pod (all the cool kids have pods these days) Everything is the Best and the CMO of Ghiaia Cashmere. Pia definitely feels simultaneously like the type of girl I was never cool enough to hang out with but if we got to know each other would love to dish over a box of pizza and a bottle of good wine and maybe a joint. She just has a vibe like that, warm and welcoming and kind of perfect but also very very vulnerable.

She’s definitely someone who lives a very blessed life but has also seen hardship including the death of her father which she talks about with a great deal of candor that I wish I could conjure sometimes to speak about the death of my own parent 20 years ago.

Overall what I love about Pia is how visually inspiring so much of her life is, from her gorgeous adopted dogs snugging on her white white furniture, to the textures in her home to the viceral romance aesthetic that follow her and her husband Davide everywhere. They are like a modern renaissance painting come to life. Pia is expecting a baby this summer - and her fertility journey is also something that inspires me (although our lives are pretty different in that regard). On her podcast she did a wonderful interview with Alisa Vitti, the author of In the Flow and founder of Flo Living that really reshaped the way I looked at my own hormones, cycle, fertility and my overall body and health.

Pia is someone whose Instagram I make a point to look at every. damn. day. - for inspiration, adorable doggos, skincare tips, if i want to start craving italian food REEEEEALLY badly, you name it. So check her out if any of that appeals to you and definitely give Everything Is The Best a listen.

Also what I didn’t even realize when I wrote this was that Pia recently launched her website PiaBaroncini.com so DEFINITELY check that out.
